Mary Jane Sysol

Mary Jane Sysol
Mary Jane Sysol, formerly of the Dunkirk/Fredonia area, passed away on February 17 in Wilmington, NC, with her four children and family by her side.
She was born in Dunkirk on September 5, 1950, to the late Harry (Sr.) and Sophie (Lewandowski) Sysol.
Mary Jane was an extremely hard worker and held jobs in the service industry for most of her life. She retired from Wake County Public Schools. She was an avid plant enthusiast and also loved redecorating her home and interior designing for others.
Mary Jane aspired to make memories with her family so she relocated down south 27 years ago. Together with her loved ones, she smiled often while partaking in cookouts, boat rides, and many family vacations. She always enjoyed singing along to her favorite 70s songs, Adele, Lady Gaga, or Lourdes.
She will always be remembered as a loving and loyal mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, caretaker, and friend to all who knew her. Mary Jane had a huge heart and was loved by many.
Survivors include one brother, Harry (Jr.) and Theresa Sysol of Dunkirk, her four children, William Hurley Jr. of Wilmington, Lori (Ryan) Gamble of Myrtle Beach, Kelli (Eddie) Paluch of Dunkirk, and Charlee (Josh) Clement of Wilmington. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren whom she adored with all her heart; Jake, Sophie, Cash, Lennon, Alexander, Addison, and Riley.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia and Cynthia Sysol, as well as her brother, Frank Sysol, Sr.
She was blessed to spend her final days at the Lower Cape Fear Life Center for Hospice. If compelled, the family asks that any memorial donations be made on her behalf to this not-for-profit organization that made her final days as comfortable as possible. (www.lifecare.org/donate )
A family memorial service is being planned for this summer in her hometown.
