Susan E. Knight
Susan E. Knight left us on February 3, 2025, to personally tend to Heaven’s creatures and gardens. She was born on January 24,1954, to the late Richard F. and Phyllis Kulpa Knight in Dunkirk, NY, where she lived most of her life.
She attended Dunkirk Public Schools, Jamestown Community College, and Bryant and Stratton Business School. Sue was subsequently employed by Al Tech Specialty Steel, Special Metals, ERA Larson Real Estate and the NYS Thruway Authority. At election time, she was a poll worker for the county Board of Elections.
Sue was an active member of Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club, the Dom Polski Club, and volunteered at the Lakeshore Humane Society, from which many furry friends found their forever home with her.
Lake Erie and the ocean brought special joy, as did the state of Florida, where she resided for a short time. Her outstanding gardening ability provided many hours of pleasure. While an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees, the most enjoyment came from watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Her love of music, especially blues and rock artists such as Robbie Robertson, the Rolling Stones, and Bruce Sprinsteen, was ever present.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Timothy Morrison and Jill (Jonathan) Muck, and adoring twin granddaughters, Ava and Naomi Muck. Sue is also survived by her brother, Tom (Helen) Knight, and sister, Karen (Rich) Catalano, nephews Dan, Jake, and Richard, their spouses and children. Many close friends and relatives also remain to remember her free spirit.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning, May 10, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc, 56 East Doughty Street, Dunkirk, NY with a Celebration of Life immediately following at the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club, 1 N Mullet St, Dunkirk NY.
