Clifford H. Hubbard, 84, of Ripley, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Clifford was born on August 30, 1940, in Sherman, N.Y. to the late Ralph V. Hubbard and Mary (Goulding) Hubbard.
He was a graduate of Ripley High School class of 1958. Following graduation, Cliff served his country with the U.S. Navy as a crewmember aboard the USS Shangri-la.
After a brief stint in the restaurant business in Florida, he moved to Michigan where he worked for thirty years as a plant operations manager at Consumers Power. Following his retirement, Cliff and his family moved back to Ripley and along with his wife Karen, owned and operated The Straw Hat for three years. In his later years, he also worked for the New York State Thruway and Fisher Security.
Of his many accomplishments, he was a Grand Mason in Michigan as well as a prominent member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Elks and Moose Associations, and an avid bowler and golfer. He will be remembered by his great sense of humor and his kind disposition.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, Ralph Hubbard, Sheri Oberleas (Daniel), Max Hubbard, Arthur Hubbard, sister: Dorothy Luke and his five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Pettit) Hubbard and his sister: Joanne Roache.
Cliff’s family would like to especially thank the caregivers for their care and compassion: Milton Gibbons, Sabrina Cooper, Alexis Nuttall, Kristina Beaujean, Tammy Beaujean, Haley Gibbons, Jennifer Gutzman and Renee Dangelo.
Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services at the Quincy Cemetery, Ripley, N.Y. at 2pm, March 18th. A reception will follow funeral services at the Ripley United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions in honor of Cliff can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
