June “Gram” Mayott Tyler Greathouse
On March 23, 2025, June “Gram” Mayott Tyler Greathouse, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
June was a friend, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother; and her love extended throughout her 105 years of life. She was born on June 25, 1919 in Arkwright, NY to the late John Raymond and Grace (Lewis) Mayott.
June truly lived her life to the fullest, appreciating every day just as much as the last. She always reminded those around her to cherish every moment with those we love and to do something every day. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and crocheting and often shared her creations with others. June was known by countless people for her legendary oatmeal raisin cookies, and her never-ending love for people, and her community and church family at Portland Congregational Church. She loved playing cards, sharing stories of her life and sitting outside. June will be remembered for her tenacity, independence, selflessness, spunk and infectious laugh.
She retired from Honeywell Aerospace in Clearwater, Florida before moving to Brocton, NY in 1992, where she spent the rest of her life. June was married to the love of her life, Robert Tyler, with whom she lost in 1964.
June is survived by grandchildren Kirk (Charyle) Tyler, Kevin (Shelly) Tyler, Kris (Barbie) Tyler, Jeffrey (Denise) Scott, Robin (Dan) Carpenter and Jason (Kelly) DeJoe, and 11 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Beside her husband, June was predeceased by daughter Janet Scott-DeJoe, and son William “Bill” Tyler, 1 grandchild, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Brocton Fire Department or the Portland Congregational Church.
