Display by Democrats let nation down

They acted like spoiled petulant children. There is no other way to describe how Democrats acted during President Donald Trump’s speech to the joint session of Congress. They never rose to acknowledge a female athlete injured by a trans male, a young cancer survivor who aspires to be a law enforcement officer, the families of Laken Riley the victim of an illegal alien or of Corey Comperatore who died protecting his family during the assassination attempt on President Trump in Butler, Pa., in July.

Nor did they join in the applause when Trump entered the chamber, a tradition of long standing done out of respect for the office of President of the United States. They just sat there smugly and silently except for Congress Al Green who stood and shouted at the President which is Democratic code for It was sad, sad for Democrats and sad for the nation.

Some Democrats sat in their seats holding what looked like ping pong paddles that had pithy statements on them like or just Others wore shirts emblazoned with the phrase All this elicited a response from liberal host Stephen Colbert who appeared holding a sign that stated which should be a clear warning to Democrats that even their most loyal supporters are becoming frustrated at the continuing aimless wandering in the political wilderness.

In a move that had many scratching their heads, just days after all Democrats voted against a bill that would have barred transgender men from participating in women’s sports many Democratic women members of Congress appeared in pink apparel that in the words of Teresa Leger Fernandez, chair of the Democratic women’s caucus, that is intended to I swear I didn’t make it up. What a total lack of self-awareness.

I want to add that as the grandfather of three granddaughters, two of who participate in college sports and one at the high school level, I see the Democratic vote is an affront to women everywhere and an indication that Democrats at the national level have lost touch with the opinion of most Americans if not reality itself.

In his speech the president gesturing at the Democrats stated that

The National Democratic Party has become the Anti-Trump Party whose only objective is to thwart the President at every opportunity. I am not sure why this is so.

Perhaps it is because Trump is the first businessman since George Washington to become President. (By the way, that is true. Look it up.) Then it might just be his sometimes blustery and hyperbolic personality developed in the high pressure world of New York City property development.

Or it might be that no matter what the Democrats, their allies in the press aided by the Biden Department of Injustice threw at him in the courts he only got stronger and rallied the majority of the American public around him. Or it could be nothing more than the Psychological disorder known as

In my opinion the National Democratic Party has evolved into an ultra-socialist party with totalitarian impulses that demands obedience to the party and its positions over loyalty to the nation with no tolerance for positions that do not agree with party doctrine. Frankly, they seem to be acting more like the hard core Bolsheviks that overthrew the Russian Government in the October 1917 Revolution giving birth to the totalitarian Soviet Union.

The National Democratic Party has a lust for power more than a desire to govern this nation. If you do not think this to be the case, ask yourself why the Biden administration opened our borders. Was it some altruistic impulse or was it a desire to create a new underclass they hoped would vote Democratic keeping them in power in Washington for years? In my opinion it’s the latter.

Finally, you might have noticed that I have been speaking of the Democratic Party not local Democratic parties. I believe that a strong two-party system at the local level is important. Coming from a family with a fair number of Democratic members I know that at the local level Democrats and Republicans share most of the same goals although we may differ in how those goals are attained. I don’t really care about what political party someone belongs to, but I know that the vast majority of us share the same values, and we all want the best for our families and the people of Chautauqua County.
