Brooks-TLC efforts deserve praise

Editor, OBSERVER:

Sept. 18, I fell in my back yard and broke my hip. Starting with the 911 call, the response was above and beyond.

After arriving at Brooks-TLC Hospital emergency room, the care I received was excellent. I was admitted and had surgery the following day.

I remained in the hospital for one week and the care I received from all the nurses, aids, and doctor was outstanding. After going through this it became so obvious that we need to keep Brooks Memorial Hospital, whether in Dunkirk or the new site. Without a hospital here, it could be a life or death situation for all of us.

In closing I would like to say one more thing. We have excellent people working at this hospital. It is disheartening when I hear negative comments about our hospital.

This was not my first time there, but the first time being admitted and being close to home made it much easier.
