Westfield’s Dellow, Gnadzinski, Chautauqua Lake’s Herrington receive top honors

After winning the Section VI Class D championship and advancing to the Far West Regional, the Westfield Wolverines have received several accolades from Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division2 West softball coaches.
Junior Haleigh Dellow has been named the league’s Player of the Year after hitting .526 with a 1.282 slugging percentage. In the circle, Dellow was just as dominant, going 16-3 with a 0.77 earned run average. She struck out 222 batters in 118 innings pitched.
Westfield’s Shawn Gnadzinski has been named the league’s Coach of the Year after a 20-3 season that included an 11-1 league record and a league championship.
Chautauqua Lake junior Olivia Herrington was named the league’s Pitcher of the Year after a league season that included a 5-1 record and 108 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. Herrington had a 0.38 ERA and a .444 WHIP.

Dellow was joined on the league’s First Team by a pair of teammates. Freshman Eva Gnadzinski hit .508 with a .949 slugging percentage. She scored 23 runs, drove in 23 and stole 14 bases. Sophomore Tanleigh Bestine hit .414 with a .621 slugging percentage. She also scored 23 runs and drove in 15 while stealing 20 bases.
Herrington was also joined on the First Team by a pair of teammates. Freshman Cayzlee Johnson hit .568 with a .596 on-base percentage and a .841 slugging percentage for a 1.437 OPS. Junior Jenna Waters hit .300 with a .367 on-base percentage and a .395 slugging percentage for a .763 OPS.
Frewsburg placed two players on the First Team. Senior Reagan Chitester hit .385 with a .692 slugging percentage that included six doubles and three triples while driving in 17 runs. She also struck out 70 in the circle. Sophomore Braelyn Stelmack hit .395 with 16 runs scored and drove in 14 RBIs. Stelmack threw out 12 runners attempting to steal.
Clymer/Sherman also had two players on the First Team. Freshman Janelle Burchanowski hit .471 with a .500 on-base percentage. She drove in 10 runs and scored 13 while tripling three times, homering twice and doubling once. Junior Reagan Bates hit .484 with a .500 on-base percentage. She drove in eight runs and doubled twice.
Maple Grove’s two players completed the First Team. Junior Erin Mansfield hit .532 with a .553 slugging percentage and a .585 on-base percentage. She struck out just three times and stole seven bases. In the field, the shortstop had a .932 fielding percentage. Freshman pitcher Lydia Darr had a 3.73 ERA, struck out 84 and opponents hit just .247 off of her. She also had a .340 on-base percentage and drove in six runs.
