Fredonia bowling downs Trojans

Submitted Photo Brayden Smith, a senior at Forestville, bowled his first perfect 300 game on Nov. 27 while bowling in his Pepsi WNY Junior Travel League where he averages a 218. The travel league’s location changes every Sunday around Buffalo. On that day, he bowled at Town Edge Bowling Center in West Seneca, starting his set with a 300, followed by a 229 and 223 for a 752 series. Smith also bowls on Forestville’s bowling team, which is housed at Lucky Lanes in Fredonia. He averages a 215 and is ranked first in his division. On Saturdays, Smith also bowls in the Lucky Lanes Junior Bowling Program in Fredonia as well as the WNY Teen Invitational League at Broadways Sports Center in Cheektowaga where he is part of an elite group of bowlers from around the Buffalo area who were selected. Smith also earned himself a spot at Junior Gold that was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan last summer.

JAMESTOWN — Nate Manzella hammered a 233 in a 552 series to lead the Fredonia boys bowling team past Southwestern 4-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 action on Wednesday at Jamestown Bowling Company.

The Hillbillies’ (11-5) scoreline of 719-840-958-2,517 bested Southwestern’s 697-804-721-2,222.

Adding to Manzella’s total was Owen Rush with 216-184-546, Brady Helmer hit 170-205-516 and Zack Kawski had a 176.

The Trojans (0-12) were paced by Cody VanGuilder with 170-178-191-539 and Andrew Drake hit a 193.

WALKER TOSSES 268 GAME

Hadyn Walker’s 268-194-190-652 led Jamestown’s boys to a 4-0 sweep of Dunkirk in Division 1 action at Lucky Lanes.

Vincent Parasiliti added a 245-232-624, Jack Christensen had a 201-504, Giovanni Parasaliti had games of 191 and 180, and Marco LoBello had a 184 game for the Red Raiders (13-3), who finished with a linescore of 1,008-861-876-2,745.

Robert Kozlowski’s 207-216-593 led the Marauders to a linescore of 850-809-800-2,459. Devin Farrington chipped in a 199-527 for Dunkirk (5-11).

BULLDOGS, BEARS TIE

FREWSBURG — The Brocton/Westfield boys bowling team was boosted by a large win in game two to tie the Frewsburg 2-2 in Division 2 action at Frewsburg Lanes.

The Bulldogs (13.5-14.5) rolled a scoreline of 564-732-720-2,016 to the Bears’ line of 633-651-723-2,007.

Brocton/Westfield was led by Tannon Harper with a 198-217-562.

Frewsburg (10-14) was paced by Jacob Sears with a 211 game and 496 series.

T’WOLVES SWEPT

FRANKLINVILLE — The Franklinville boys bowling team swept Cattaraugus-Little Valley 4-0 in Division 3 action at Ischua Valley Country Club.

The Panthers (5-15) were led to victory by Alexis Miller with a 178-466 series.

The Timberwolves’ (3-13) top bowler was Patrick Hesse with a 377 series.
