Eagles shut out Cards 3-0
ELLICOTTVILLE — Owen Doherty scored a pair of first-half goals and added an assist in the second half as Ellicottville blanked Randolph 3-0 in Division II to hand the Cardinals their first loss of the season.
Doherty scored from Ben Edwards in the 11th minute and from Holden Basher in the 28th minute for the Eagles (6-5-1, 5-2-0). In the 77th minute, Maddox Johnson scored from Doherty.
Delsin Tallchief made three saves for Randolph (10-1-1, 6-1-0) and Jackson Kruszynski made seven saves for Ellicottville.
MERRITT SCORES GOLDEN GOAL
SILVER CREEK — Tucker Merritt scored in the second minute of overtime as Silver Creek/Forestville got by North Collins 1-0 in Division III.
The Black Knights improved to 3-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the league, while the Eagles fell to 4-5-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the league.
TROJANS BLANK OLEAN
WEST ELLICOTT — Seth Vaughn scored twice for Southwestern in a 4-0 shutout of Olean in Division I.
Grey Kidder scored in the 17th minute for the Trojans (11-1-0, 7-0-0). After halftime, Connor Young scored once and Vaughn scored twice.
The Huskies fell to 2-8-1 overall and 1-6-0 in the league.
PINE VALLEY/GOWANDA WINS FIRST
SOUTH DAYTON — Noah Frontuto and Jarrett Meyers each had a goal and an assist as Pine Valley/Gowanda picked up its first win with a 3-0 shutout of Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley in Division II.
Frontuto scored from Sawyer Bradigan in the 10th minute and Aiden Bell scored from Meyers in the 26th minute as the Panthers (1-8-0, 1-6-0) led 2-0 at halftime.
In the 48th minute, Meyers scored from Frontuto.
The Warwolves fell to 1-10-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the league.
GATORS TOP JAMESTOWN
JAMESTOWN — Mat Burnett scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to jump-start Allegany-Limestone to a 6-1 Division I win over Jamestown at Strider Field.
Tommy Buffamante, Gunnar Martin, Kaleb Reed and Kamil Milliner added goals for the Gators (9-2-0, 6-1-0), while Luke Griffin and Collin Coleman each had an assist.
Lincoln Carpenter scored from Beckett Lumia in the 16th minute for the Red & Green (3-8-1, 1-5-1), who got 10 saves from Evan Maloney in net.
