CORAL GABLES, Fla. – This has become a well-deserved habit.

The University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame & Museum announced earlier this week its Class of 2025 inductees Tuesday for the 55th UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum Induction Banquet, which will be held next spring.

Silver Creek resident Cindy Kessler Miller (1975-78) is among that group.

Miller began her career as a walk-on in 1975 and earned her way to a scholarship spot in 1976; helped the Canes to back-to-back national championships in 1977 and 1978 and was named an All-American in her senior campaign in 1978; and served as team captain. After a brief career on the LPGA Tour, Miller, who has been enshrined in many other halls of fame, including the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, established herself as one of the game’s finest golf teachers and will be inducted into the LPGA Professionals Hall of Fame as a member of its Class of 2024.

Joining Miller in the Class of 2025 are Vikki Alonzo (soccer), Mark Cooper (football), Kevin Howard (baseball), Jerome McDougle (football), Brian Ramos (diving), Darius Rice (basketball) and Krista Simkins (track & field).

“On behalf of the UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum, it gives us great pleasure to announce the 2025 Class of inductees, which is comprised of UM athletes from seven different sports,” said UMSHoF&M President Mike Ward. “We will celebrate this diverse class and showcase their outstanding accomplishments from their Miami careers at our induction banquet in the Spring of 2025.”

This year’s class will be formally introduced during an on-field ceremony at the Miami-Duke football game at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 2 as part of the “Hall of Fame Game” ceremonies.
