Randolph wins nonleague showdown over Eagles
RANDOLPH — Donnilynn Sheldon ahd 23 kills and Aliza Hind had 35 assists as Randolph beat Chautauqua Lake 25-16, 12-25, 26-24, 26-24 in a nonleague girls volleyball showdown Friday.
Hind also had 11 digs and two aces; Sheldon had nine digs, four blocks and two aces; Addyson Shawley had nine kills, a dig and four blocks; Skylar Herington had four kills, 12 digs and an ace; Ryanne Bushey had four kills, 11 digs and an ace; and Avery Morrison had 16 digs for the Cardinals (11-3, 7-2 CCAA D2).
The Eagles, who are 8-0 in Division 3 play, fell to 10-3 overall.
SILVER CREEK BEATS COUGARS
SINCLAIRVILLE — Silver Creek rallied after a first-set loss to hand Cassadaga Valley a 21-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-22 nonleague defeat in the Cougars’ traditional Pink Out Cancer game.
The Black Knights, who are 5-3 in Division 3, improved to 9-3 overall.
Emiley Anderson had 10 kills, 13 digs, a block and an ace; Hailey Anderson had eight kills, seven digs and nine aces; Alexis Pattyson had two kills, eight assists, a dig and an ace; Payton Meder had two kills, two assists, five digs, a block and four aces; and Hailey Myers had a block and six aces for the Cougars (7-9, 6-3 CCAA D4).
“Tonight, we come together for the Pink Out Volleyball game, a powerful event to spike out cancer in memory of our beloved Cassadaga Valley teacher, Mrs. Tordoff. Her strength, kindness, and dedication continue to inspire us all, and this game is a heartfelt tribute to her lasting impact on our community,” the Cougars said in a statement read before the game. “As we play with passion and pride, we honor her legacy and raise awareness for the fight against cancer. Let’s make this night unforgettable, for Mrs. Tordoff and for everyone battling this disease.”
