Mincarelli and DeLong beat Salamanca’s Emelia Prey and Sherry Chen 8-2 in the first round, then topped Falconer’s Mia VandeVelde and Emily Green 6-3, 6-2 in the second round, before outlasting Maple Grove’s Megan McGee and Meghan Lockwood 6-0, 1-6, 6-2 in the third round.

The other three pairs to qualify for today’s semifinals had first-round byes Friday.

Frewsburg’s Grace Kutschke and Brooke Golab beat Jamestown’s Graciella Melquist and Jolee Shultz 6-0, 6-0 in the second round before a 6-2, 6-0 win over Chautauqua Lake’s Gabby Freeburg and Jillian Miller in the third round.

Olean’s Lina Chauhdry and Natalie Snyder swept Chautauqua Lake’s Taylyn Stanton and Quinn Vaillancourt in the second round and Frewsburg’s Lily Harvey and Mackenzie Lobb in the third round.

The final semifinal spot went to Falconer’s Rachael Swanson and Elena Barie, who topped Olean’s Rachael Dulmus and Simran Chahal 6-3, 6-1 in the second round and Jamestown’s Onnalee Nellis and Jazmyn Tonkin 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (10-8) in a marathon third-round match to end Friday’s action.

Semifinals and finals in both singles and doubles will begin at 11 a.m. today at the YMCA. The top-three finishers in each will qualify for next week’s Section VI championships, which will be back at the Lakewood YMCA on Friday and Saturday.
