Fredonia State’s Kulakowski named SUNYAC Basektball AOW
SYRACUSE – The SUNYAC selects Fredonia’s Brandon Kulakowski as its Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 24.
Kulakowski led the Devils to their first win of the year with a 29-point effort in a 89-82 win over Hartwick. He shot 11-18 from the floor, including 7-10 from three-point range. He added 11 rebounds to lead all players. In a two-point loss to Pitt-Bradford, he put up 26 points shooting 10-15 from the floor and had four rebounds. For the week, he averaged 27.5 ppg and 7.5 rebounds. He shot 21-33 (64 percent) from the field, including 10-17 from long range. He currently leads the SUNYAC with 23.8 ppg., is second with 14 threes, and is third shooting 59 percent from the floor.
BLUE DEVILS FALL TO ELMIRA
ELMIRA — The Blue Devils road trip to Elmira resulted in an 80-65 defeat at the hands of the Soaring Eagles on Monday evening. Fredonia State’s Brandon Kulakowski registered his third double-double in five games with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Fredonia State held an early 8-7 lead. Elmira would score the next 13 points to go up 20-8. They would hold a 40-33 lead at the half.
Elmira maintained a comfortable lead most of the second half. At one point the Devils cut it to a six-point game. Martin Garza converted a layup, then hit two free throws on the next possession to make the score 45-39 in favor of the hosts. Garza finished with 10 points.
The biggest lead for the Soaring Eagles was 19 points at the 8:19 mark, and again in the closing minutes when they led 80-61.
Elmira (3-3) was led by Tyler Cardello with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Riley Spencer added 15, and JJ Babcock went for 12 points and nine boards.
The Devils (1-4) are off until Dec. 3 when they play host to Houghton University in Dods Hall.

WRAP UP SWIM INVITE
The Fredonia State swim team finished the three-day, six-team Blue Devil Invite on Saturday evening. Penn State Behrend, Alfred State, Hartwick, Pitt-Bradford, and Alfred State also competed.
The women’s scores are Brockport 1,703.5, Hartwick College 1,699.5, Penn State Behrend 1,554, Alfred State College 1,047, Fredonia State 404, Pitt Bradford 271.
The men’s scores are Penn State Behrend 2,062, Brockport 1,414.5, Hartwick College 1,351.5, Alfred State College 1,021, Pitt Bradford 565, Fredonia State 352.
