Taylor named All-SUNYAC Second Team

CORTLAND — The SUNYAC announced its All-Conference Men’s Soccer team, and senior forward Brian Taylor was named to the Second Team. The East Patchogue native led the Devils in scoring as the team finished the year with an 8-9-2 mark, and 3-6 in conference play.

At season’s end, he ranked fourth in the conference with 13 goals, and third with seventh assists. His point total of 33 ranked third in the SUNYAC.

“Brian saved his best for last,” said head coach P.J. Gondek. “Each and every game Brian was our most dangerous player and forced other teams to pay close attention to him defensively. He is very deserving of this prestigious honor.”

Taylor was named SUNYAC Player of the Week twice. He had a big game in a three-goal effort in a win over Hilbert College and added the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over St. Vincent during the week ending Sept. 16.

For the week ending Sept. 23rd, he had four goals — two against Pitt-Bradford and two against Canton.

Taylor’s name can now be found across the Blue Devils’ all-time leaders.
