Halstrom hits four 3s as Maple Grove edges Panama
ELLERY — Alex Halstrom hit four 3-pointers reaching a game-high 16 points to lead Maple Grove past Panama 44-40 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 action on Friday night.
Halstrom also collected eight rebounds, Claire Price scored 11 points and Bryanna Cornell hauled in 12 boards for the Red Dragons (3-0, 2-0).
Kaitlyn Horton paced Panama (1-1, 0-1) with 15 points and nine rebounds, Kiera Loberg scored 13 points with three steals, Cassie Lyon also made three steals and Jessica Lyon had five boards.

BROCTON — Ava Nyweide scored 11 points and Hannity Goetzinger grabbed eight rebounds as Clymer beat Brocton 44-17 in Division 2 play.
The Pirates (1-1, 1-1) led 9-6 after the first quarter before taking control with a 12-2 second quarter.
Alyssa Pratt had six steals and Goetzinger had four assists in the win.
Zoe Spiller led the Bulldogs (0-2, 0-2) with 7 points.

WAGNER, WILDCATS DOMINATE LAKE
MAYVILLE — Kelsey Wagner scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and picked up seven steals as Sherman powered past Chautauqua Lake 70-22 in Division 2.
Baya Oehlbeck provided another 13 points for Sherman (3-0, 2-0), Emmersen Crawford scored 11 points, had seven steals and collected five rebounds, and Jayne Chambers added six rebounds.
Chautauqua Lake (0-3, 0-1) was led by Kaylee Tarr with 10 points and six rebounds. Brina Jacobson pulled in eight boards and two steals, and Grace Gerring added seven rebounds.
