Jacobson, Eagles pull away from Red Dragons in D2

ELLERY — Nick Jacobson scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Chautauqua Lake pull away from Maple Grove 60-36 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 action on Tuesday evening.

Jacobson finished with 21 points for the Eagles (2-2, 2-1), while Nate Henry added 14 to secure the win.

Maple Grove (0-4, 0-2) was led by Aiden Dahlberg with 19 points, four rebounds and two assists and Cam Lombardo added three boards.

DREW HIND SHINES IN WIN

RANDOLPH — Drew Hind poured in 36 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and collected five assists and five steals to lead Randolph to a 63-39 victory over Falconer in a nonleague.

“It was one of the best games he’s played,” Cardinals head coach Kevin Hind said. “He just controlled the game. I didn’t feel he made a mistake tonight. He made good passes and hit shots.”

Randolph (1-1) led 32-21 at halftime — Drew Hind accounted for 20 points — and then it outscored the Golden Falcons 31-18 after the break.

Joining Drew Hind in double figures was Broden Brooks with 13 points. Griffin Nelson added seven rebounds and seven assists.

Nathan Bailey led Falconer (2-3) with 14 points.

PANTHERS PREVAIL

GOWANDA — Gowanda bounced back from a poor second quarter to edge Cleveland Hill 61-58 in nonleague action.

After being outscored 12-5 in the second quarter, Gowanda posted a 19-point third quarter to regain the lead and outlast the Golden Eagles. Logan Ruff paced the Panthers with 22 points while Trelin Warrior added 16 and Winter Rivera had 10.

FRANKLINVILLE — Franklinville outscored Pine Valley 23-5 in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 66-30 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 victory on Monday.

Eli Shenk scored 14 points, six boards and three steals for Franklinville (4-2, 1-0), Collin Mooney also had 14 points and two steals, Isaac Towne added 13 points, seven boards and four steals and Matther Spittler provided four boards, five assists and two steals.

Pine Valley (1-1, 1-1) was led by James Greene with 12 points and Trent Ivett with 11.

OLEAN — A lopsided third quarter allowed Salamanca to get past Olean 52-51 in Division 1 action.

Avery Brown posted a double-double for the Warriors with 22 points, 10 boards and two steals, Maddox Isaac provided 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals, Payton Bradley hauled in 13 rebounds and Jacob Herrick dealt five assists.

Olean was led by Caedyn Tingley with 16 points.

PIRATES EARN FIRST WIN

BROCTON — Carson White scored 19 points, grabbed five boards, dealt three assists and made a block to lead Clymer past Brocton 48-32 in Division 2.

Kameron Einink added 14 points, five boards and four assists for the Pirates (1-2, 1-1), Roman Wassink grabbed eight boards and three steals and Jo Beckerink made eight boards and two steals.

Brocton falls to 1-3 overall with the loss and 0-1 in the league.
