Jacobson leads Eagles past Pirates; Warriors sink Fredonia 60-37

CLYMER — Nick Jacobson scored 20 points, dished eight assists, grabbed four steals and four rebounds to lead Chautauqua Lake past Clymer 60-51 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 boys basketball action on Thursday.

Trent Houser scored 15 points and a block for the Eagles (3-2, 3-1), Nate Henry added 11 with two steals and Brendan Klossner grabbed 15 boards and made five assists.

Carson White scored a game-high 25 points, grabbed eight boards, three steals and made two blocks for Clymer (1-3, 1-2). Kameron Einink added four rebounds, five steals and a block, Roman Wassink made five rebounds and three assists and Jo Beckerink collected six rebounds with a block.

STRONG 3RD PROPELS WILDCATS

SHERMAN — Jacob Ferranto scored 17 points, grabbed nine boards, made three steals, and dealt four blocks and three assists to lead Sherman past Brocton 50-41 in Division 2.

Carson Pinzok reeled in 16 boards, scored 8, made three assists and had two blocks for the Wildcats (2-3, 1-2), Logan Swan collected six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block and Troy Chambers had six boards.

Brocton (1-4, 0-2) was led by Michael Garcia with 14 points and Jeremy Weisner provided 10.

WARRIORS RUN AWAY FROM ‘BILLIES

SALAMANCA — After leading Salamanca 19-16 at halftime, Fredonia was outscored 25-5 in the third quarter to fall 60-37 in Division 1.

Avery Brown paced the Warriors (2-0, 2-0) with 12 points, while nine different players impacted the scoresheet.

RJ Koopman led Fredonia (3-2, 1-1) with 12 points, two assists, two steals and a block, Luca Gullo and Donovan Dowdy had six rebounds each, Ashton Putney made four rebounds and two steals and Brennan Lincoln made four boards and a block.

GATORS POWER PAST MARAUDERS

ALLEGANY — Carson Kwiatkowski scored 24 points to lead Allegany-Limestone past Dunkirk 56-33 in Division 1.

Gavin Straub added another 13 points for the Gators (4-0, 2-0) as they remained undefeated.

Dunkirk (1-2, 1-1) was led by K’Vion Tell with 13 points and Greg Orcutt scored 11.

BLACK KNIGHTS PULL AWAY

NORTH COLLINS — Simon White poured in 25 points with five assists, six steals and seven rebounds to lead Silver Creek past North Collins 62-32 in nonleague play.

Silver Creek (3-0) turned a halftime tie into a dominant victory, receiving 16 points, six boards and two steals from Brady Eick. Travis Brennan added six rebounds and five assists, Alan Hoelzle dished five blocks and two steals and Gavin Delong collected five rebounds.

North Collins falls to 1-3 overall with the loss.

RUFF, WARRIOR POWER PANTHERS

GOWANDA — Logan Ruff and Trelin Warrior both scored 26 points to lead Gowanda past Springville-Griffith in nonleague action.

With the game tied 30-30 at halftime, the Panthers (2-2) put on the burners to pull away from the Griffins (2-3) in the second half outscoring them 37-23 for the 67-53 final.
