PANAMA — The Panama girls basketball team knocked off Sherman to claim the Section VI Class D title last season, but on Tuesday evening the Wildcats got their revenge.

Kelsey Wagner hit five 3-pointers scoring 24 points to power Sherman to a 74-34 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 victory.

Emerson Crawford added 13 points, six assists, three steals and a block for Sherman, Jayne Chambers scored 10 points and Teagan Gratto collected four steals and two blocks.

Panama was led by Kiera Loberg with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, McKenna Kolstee had eight rebounds, Kaitlyn Horton grabbed seven and Jessica Lyon made six.

WEST ELLICOTT — Gianna Sirianni hit six 3-pointers as she scored 24 points to lead Southwestern past Ellicottville 53-22 in nonleague play.

Sirianni added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Trojans (3-1, 0-0 CCAA 1), Ellie Pearson scored 10 points, five assists and seven rebounds, Braya Beaver had four assists, three boards and three steals and Marlana Cresanti had four steals.

Ellicottville (1-3, 1-0 CCAA 4) was led by Riley Whitmer with 8 points.

BROCTON — Maple Grove rolled by Brocton 52-21 in Division 2 action.

Zoe Spiller scored 6 points and had 10 rebounds for Brocton (0-3, 0-3), while Miyah Collins scored 7 with five boards.

Maple Grove improves to 5-0 overall on the year and 3-0 within the division.
