MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer boys wrestling team posted eight pins in a dominant 60-8 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 victory over Fredonia/Silver Creek/Forestville on Wednesday.
Picking up pins for the Eagles (3-0) are Tayvier Wells at 170 pounds, Caleb Szymanowski at 190, Colton Hamilton at 215, Mason Maring at 215, Zander Lombardo at 116, Thandon Bensink at 131, Toby Watson at 152 and Tristen Gibbs at 160. Robert Head also posted a win by decision for the Eagles at 138.
The Hillbillies (3-1) secured a pair of victories with Rocco Muscarella at 101 pounds and Cameron Ingram earned a technical fall at 145.

Javonte Hackett and Patrick Braley secured pins for the Golden Cougars (4-0) at 190 and 215 pounds, respectively. Falconer/Cassadaga Valley also earned a technical fall from Nicolas Russell at 152 and a decision by Lincoln Satterfield at 108.

FREDONIA PREVAILS
FREDONIA — The Fredonia girls wrestling team moved to 2-0 in dual meet action with a solid 44-9 victory over visiting Kenmore-Tonawanda on Wednesday.
Leah Waite started the evening’s action with a 10-0 first period technical fall at 114 pounds. Shanyeska Torres-Soto then followed with a first-period pin in the 120-pound class.
Also picking up quick pins for the Hillbillies were Olive Tucker (152) and Avary Legrano (165). In the feature match of the evening, WNY’s second-ranked Kim Bauer at 185, moved up to take on top- ranked heavyweight Aislyn O’Malley from Ken-Ton and came away with a first-period pin. Fredonia’s Lindsey Bailey (107), Kennedy Lichtenthal (126) and Braelyn Wicks (132) picked up forfeit wins.
Fredonia Girls Wrestling will next be in action next Wednesday at Dunkirk.

SECURES PINS
DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk girls wrestled four matches against Southwestern alongside the boys’ duals and came away with four pins.
Ruthielyz Cruz Ayala pinned Keyaira Caceres twice at 114 pounds, first in 2:15 and then 1:25. Kiana Jessie pinned Leia Taylor in 2:57 at 126 pounds and Gineishka Figueroa took Taylor to the mat in 1:09.
