Final pin lifts Fredonia girls wrestling over Dunkirk
DUNKIRK — Avary LeGrano recorded a pin over Anahi DeJesus at 165 pounds to lift the Fredonia girls wrestling team past Dunkirk 34-29 on Wednesday.
The Hillbillies added pins from Bryleigh Wicks at 185, Kimberly Bauer at 235, Leah Waite at 114, Braelynn Wicks at 132, McKella Hodkin at 145 and a technical fall by Shaneyksa Torres Soto at 120.
Dunkirk received pins from Ruth Ayala at 107, Leoneris Fernandez at 126 and Jianna Cave at 152, while Eva Colon-DeJesus earned a technical fall at 138 on top of two forfeit wins.

Cayden Redford at 152 pounds, Maddox Hudson at 190, Jayden John at 285, Greg Reid at 131 and Nathan Warrior at 138 earned the pinfall victories for Gowanda/Pine Valley (4-0). Winter Mentley-Peters picked up a win by major decision at 170 and five forfeits added to the victory.
Billy Slavinski earned a pin at 215 to prevent Franklinville/Hinsdale/West Valley from being shut out.
