Fredonia girls wrestling tops Orchard Park
FREDONIA — Paced by three pins, Fredonia’s girls beat Orchard Park 31-29 in high school wrestling Wednesday.
The Hillbillies’ Leah Waite earned a pin in 22 seconds at 107 pounds to tie the match at 5-all.
After the Quakers took a 15-5 lead, Braelyn Wicks earned a 26-second pin for Fredonia at 126 pounds.
Again, Orchard Park took a 10-point lead, but the Hillbillies’ Suzie Nebrich answered with a pin in 1:34 at 138 pounds.
The Quakers’ lead eventually grew to 29-16, but a trio of forfeits at the end of the match gave the victory to Fredonia, which improved to 4-0 in dual meets.
