Schumaker, Weingart power Westfield

BROCTON — Mackenzie Schumaker had 17 points and seven steals, while Reagan Weingart had 10 points and 10 rebounds as Westfield beat Brocton 69-20 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls basketball play Tuesday.

Nahlia Douglas also had 10 points for the Wolverines (4-4, 2-2), who led 41-5 at halftime.

Makayley Nelson led the Bulldogs (0-8, 0-5) with 7 points and Sha’Na Adams grabbed seven rebounds.

JAMESTOWN — Jadyn Trocki hit five 3-pointers for a game-high 21 points to lead Frewsburg past Falconer 66-14 in Division 3 action at the Physical Education Complex at Jamestown Community College.

Teghan Trocki had six steals and five assists for Frewsburg (7-1, 3-0); Taytum Jimerson contributed five assists and five steals; Abery Harvey scored 13 with six rebounds; and Raven Troutman had six rebounds.

Falconer (4-3, 0-1) was led by Augustine Krenzer with 10 points.

DUNKIRK — Gianna Sirianni poured in 24 points to go along with three assists and three steals to lead Southwestern to a 66-21 Division 1 victory over Dunkirk.

Eight of Sirianni’s points came in the first quarter when the Trojans (6-1, 1-0) opened up a 22-5 lead and were never threatened the rest of the way.

Braya Beaver chipped in 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals; Marlana Cresanti collected 10 steals, nine assists and five boards; Charlotte Beaver chipped in 9 points and four steals; and Ellie Pearson added 8 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists for the winners.

ELLERY — Claire Price scored 21 points and grabbed six steals and five rebounds to lead Maple Grove past Chautauqua Lake 57-20 in Division 2.

Bryanna Cornell recorded a double-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals for Maple Grove (7-1, 5-0); Morgan Caldwell scored 13 points with six rebounds; and Meg Ryan also collected six rebounds.

CARDINALS HOT FROM DEEP

RANDOLPH — Skylar Herington and Quinn Pence combined for seven of Randolph’s 11 3-pointers as the Cardinals coasted past Portville 69-31 in the Division 3 opener for both teams.

Herington finished with 30 points and three steals, while Pence had 13 points, nine assists, five steals and four rebounds for the Cardinals (4-4, 1-0), who led 22-9 after the first quarter and 45-20 at halftime.

Emma Rhinehart led the Panthers (5-3, 0-1) with 14 points.

GOWANDA — Breonna Hopkins led four Cassadaga Valley players in double figures with 17 points as the Cougars coasted past Gowanda 69-34 in a Division 3 contest.

Maddie Debo had 14 points; Emiley Anderson had 13 points, six steals and six assists; and Aliyah Hopkins added 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals for Cassadaga Valley (6-1, 1-1), which led 55-18 after three quarters.
