18 to be honored at CSHOF banquet

EDITOR’S NOTE: 18 local athletes will be honored at the CSHOF’s 43rd Annual Induction Banquet on Presidents’ Day, February 17, 2025, at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club prior to the induction of the Class of 2025: Jessica Anderson, Tom Anderson, Anthony Barone, Stephen Carlson, Mark Edstrom, Ron Frederes, Nick Kahanic, Aaron Leeper and Nick Sirianni.

The Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame will be holding its 43rd annual induction banquet on Presidents’ Day and attending the event are 18 local athletes and coaches who will be honored.

Among those are Taytum Jimerson who earned a First-Team all-state selection in Class C soccer for the Frewsburg girls; Julianna Roth of Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove earned First-Team all-state in Class B girls soccer; Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer who was the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and Federation champion in 1-meter diving; members of the Clymer/Sherman/Panama Class D football champions including head coach Ty Harper, New York State co-Player of the Years Tate Catanese and Bryce Hinsdale, and First-Team all-state Class D selections Carter Brink, Alex Barmore, Collin Ryan and Dalton Richter; Southwestern’s Connor Young for earning First-Team all-state selection in Class B boys soccer; Maple Grove’s Ethan Verbosky named First-Team all-state Class D cross country; Southwestern’s Emma Lewis First-Team all-state Class C cross country; Gowanda/Pine Valley’s Camryn Slade earned a First-Team all-state Class D football selection; Frewsburg’s Trent Lewis earned a First-Team all-state 8-man football selection; Jamestown’s Chase Bonta named First-Team all-state Class AA football; Silver Creek’s Jaylah Cossin at SUNY Brockport selected by the United Soccer Coaches as a First-Team All-American in NCAA Division III womens soccer; and Cassadaga Valley’s Rayven Sample at Bucknell University competing and winning the 400-meters dash at the U.S. Paralympic Team Trials.
