On Saturday, the Cheetah West 15U team competed in a 12-team tournament at the SPIRE Institute. They went unbeaten in their pool defeating Northern Ohio VBC, Mahoning Valley (Ohio) Premier and Erie (Pa.) Elite 2. In the gold bracket quarterfinals they won a tough match against General McClane (Pa.) 25-15, 25-27, 15-13. In the semifinals they were trailing the unbeaten Infinity VBC (Salem, Ohio) 11-18 in the first set, but came back to win 25-20, 25-14. In the gold bracket finals they played Erie Elite 1, which was unbeaten to that point, and won 26-24, 25-23.
