Pine Valley girls power past Hornets

SOUTH DAYTON — After a slow first quarter the Pine Valley girls basketball turned it on to surge past Forestville 52-41 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 on Thursday night.

Danica Farnham posted a double-double for the Panthers (11-4, 8-1) with 11 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocks; Sandy Ivett scored 17 points with five boards, three assists and two steals; Danielle West scored 16 points with six boards, five steals and four assists; and Sarah Kruszka dished out five assists with four steals.

Forestville drops to 6-8 overall and 4-6 in league with the loss.

BLACK KNIGHTS ROLL PIRATES

CLYMER — Gracie Williams scored 13 points to lead Silver Creek past Clymer 36-21 in Division 2.

Khloe Karnes added another 10 points for the Black Knights (10-5, 7-5) and Gracelin Stevens scored 7.

Clymer (5-11, 3-9) was led by Ava Nyweide with 9 points, six boards, three steals and two assists; Lilly Johnson added 12 rebounds; and Elli Bodamer collected six boards with two assists.

CHAUTAUQUA LAKE TOPS BROCTON

BROCTON — Kaylee Tarr scored 17 points and collected eight rebounds, five steals and two assists as Chautauqua Lake defeated Brocton 68-28 in Division 2 action.

Eden Ludwig scored a game-high 20 points with five rebounds for the Eagles (2-12, 2-8). Kendra Tarr added five steals and rebounds, and Brina Jacobson collected seven boards with three assists.

Zoe Spiller posted a double-double for Brocton (1-16, 0-13) with 11 points and 13 rebounds; Sha’Na Adams had six rebounds and two assists; and Colie Bundy also collected six boards with two assists.

OLEAN — A 26-point third quarter lifted Fredonia past Olean 48-29 in Division 1 action.

Piper Walnicki hit three triples while scoring a game-high 22 points for the Hillbillies (4-11, 3-5).

Olean (3-14, 2-7) was led by Anna Bates and Alaina Hirliman with 8 points each.
