Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls basketball champion Sherman was rewarded with the league’s Player of the Year by the league’s coaches.

Wildcats senior Kelsey Wagner was selected as the top player after averaging 16.4 points, 3.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game.

Wagner was joined on the first team by freshman teammate Emmersen Crawford, who averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 steals and 2.4 assists per game.

Sherman’s Emily Eckwahl was also named the league’s Coach of the Year after guiding the Wildcats to a perfect 14-0 record in the division.

Panama, which finished second in the league, had two players named to the first team. Senior Kaitlyn Horton was honored after averaging 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 0.9 assists per game, while junior Kiera Loberg received recognition after averaging 12.9 points, 3.2 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Maple Grove senior Claire Price and Westfield junior Mackenzie Schumaker rounded out the first team. Price averaged 9.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game, while Schumaker averaged 10.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 0.8 assists per game.

The league’s second team included Clymer senior Ava Nyweide, Sherman senior Teagan Gratto, Silver Creek freshman Gracelin Stevens, Maple Grove junior Bryanna Cornell and Maple Grove freshman Morgan Caldwell.

Brocton received the Team Sportsmanship Award and Price earned the Individual Sportsmanship Award. Other Sportsmanship Award winners included Brocton’s Zoe Spiller, Chautauqua Lake’s Kaylee Tarr, Clymer’s Janelle Burchanowski, Panama’s Cassie Lyon, Wagner, Silver Creek’s Makayla Kelly and Westfield’s Madyson Burgess.
