Maple Grove rallies past Dunkirk

DUNKIRK — Maple Grove rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Dunkirk 8-7 in nonleague softball Friday.

Meg Ryan went 3 for 3 with a sixth-inning home run, Jessica Lyon went 2 for 3 with an RBI double in the seventh inning and Adarah Egan led off the seventh inning with a triple for the Red Dragons. Savannah Weart added a two-run double.

Brooke Szymczak went 2 for 4, Emma Ahlstrim hit a two-run double, Ryleigh Donato had a two-run triple, and Aaliyah Morales went 2 for 4 for the Marauders.

RHINEHART HAS WINNING HIT

FALCONER — Emily Rhinehart hit an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to send Falconer to a 2-1 nonleague win over Fredonia.

Mylie Zaranek was 3 for 4, Emily Zaranek was 2 for 4 with a triple, and Rhinehart was 2 for 3 for the Golden Falcons. Rhinehart also struck out seven in the circle.

Danielle Palisin struck out eight in the circle for the Hillbillies. Bella Buckley and McKenna Crawford had hits for Fredonia.

GNADZINSKI STARTS STRONG

BROCTON — Eva Gnadzinski had four hits, including two doubles and a triple, to go along with two RBIs to lead Westfield to a 14-1 nonleague victory over Brocton.

Molly Burgess had three hits and two RBIs; Maddy Burgess had two hits, including a double; Avery Smith had two hits, including a triple; and Sydney Hotchkiss had two hits, including a double, for the Wolverines (1-0).

Gnadzinski struck out three and allowed two hits in six innings in the circle.

Paige Miller tripled and scored, Lauralie Battaglia singled, and Abrianna Newell had an RBI groundout for the Bulldogs (0-2).

MAGGIO POWERS JAMESTOWN

FREWSBURG — Emily Maggio had two hits, including a two-run triple, three runs scored and seven RBIs to lead Jamestown to a 25-8 nonleague win in six innings over Frewsburg.

Raegan Powers and Alyvia Remington each had a two-run double for the Red & Green (1-0). Kaylee Keppel struck out four in the circle.

Ava Reale had two hits and two runs scored for the Bears (0-1).

THURSDAY

PINE VALLEY WINS IN EXTRAS

CATTARAUGUS — Pine Valley scored a pair of runs on an error in the top of the ninth inning to beat Cattaraugus-Little Valley 5-3 in nonleague play Thursday.

Madilynn Robertson and Carlie Ward each had two hits for the Panthers.

Danica Farnham allowed seven hits and struck out six in the circle for Pine Valley.

Madison Rogan had a two-run double for the Timberwolves.
