Silver Creek rolls past Brocton 21-3
BROCTON — Makayla Kelly collected two hits, including a triple, and scored three times as Silver Creek rolled Brocton 21-3 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 softball action Wednesday.
Rylee Weiskerger added three hits with a double and two runs for Silver Creek (3-1, 2-0), while the trio of Kyle Ziegler, Amirya Warrior and Kim Bauer collected two hits and two runs each. Maddy Blair earned the win in the circle with eight strikeouts.
Brocton (0-4, 0-2) received solo home runs from Zoe Spiller and Paige Miller, Sha’Nah Adams had a hit and Colie Bundy’s hit drove in Adams. Madison Sears had three strikeouts in the circle for the Bulldogs.
TROJANS RALLY PAST SALAMANCA
SALAMANCA — Eliana Barone went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs as Southwestern rallied to defeat Salamanca 7-4 in Division 1.
Bailey Bishop recorded her first varsity hit, while both Aryanna Silakowski and Maddi Burnett worked the game in the circle. Silakowski tossed the first four innings with six strikeouts and two walks, while Burnett finished the game for Southwestern (1-6, 1-1) giving up one hit, a walk and striking out four to claim the win.
Skyla Dowdy doubled for Salamanca (1-3, 0-2), while Charli Ross recorded five strikeouts and six walks in the circle.
COUGARS GET PAST RED DRAGONS
BEMUS POINT — Six of Cassadaga Valley’s seven hits were singles, but that was enough to beat Maple Grove/Panama 8-5 in Division 2 action.
The Red Dragons (1-3, 0-2) led 5-0 after the bottom of the first inning as Lydia Darr hit a two-run single, Bry Cornell and Meg McGee had RBI groundouts, and Savannah Rambacher had an RBI single.
The Cougars (2-0, 2-0) made it 5-4 in the top of the fifth inning. Mia Fanara scored on a sacrifice fly and Emiley Anderson hit a three-run triple.
Cassadaga Valley then took the lead in the sixth as Fanara hit an RBI double and scored on a fielder’s choice.
Alex Halstrom and Jessica Lyon each added a single for Maple Grove/Panama. Lyon started in the circle and allowed five hits and five runs while striking out seven and walking three.
Denza Fanara, Emiley Anderson and Hailey Anderson each collected two hits for Cassadaga Valley.
WOLVES BLANK FREWSBURG
CLYMER — Clymer/Sherman scored eight runs in the fourth inning and pitcher Elli Bodamer was an error away from a five-inning perfect game as the Wolves beat Frewsburg 12-0 in Division 2 action.
Ava Reale led off the game by reaching on an error for the Bears (0-4, 0-2), who never got another baserunner against Bodamer, who struck out eight.
Kelsey Wagner gave Clymer/Sherman (3-0, 1-0) a 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the second inning.
In the fourth, Alyssa Pratt had a pair of RBI singles while Bailey White, Wagner and Kiera Kinal also had RBI singles.
DUNKIRK FALLS SHORT
ALLEGANY — Eva Colon-DeJesus hit a two-RBI double in the top of the seventh for Dunkirk, but the Marauders still fell short of Allegany-Limestone 6-5 in Division 1.
Emma Ahlstrom drove in Dunkirk’s first run in the fourth, Colon-DeJesus scored in the fifth and Chelsey Tramuto also had an RBI in the seventh for the Marauders (1-6, 0-2).
Allegany-Limestone (7-0, 2-0) was led by Kailey Truman with 12 strikeouts in the circle, Taylor Foster went 2 for 3 and Madison Kahm hit a triple.
