Three hurt in two-vehicle crash

CHAUTAUQUA — Three people were sent to Westfield Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred about 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of Burdick Road and Barnes Road, according to a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department press release.
Investigators determined Thomas McIndoo, 68, of Buffalo, was operating a Penske truck westbound on Dean Road. while William Shreve, 60, of Westfield and his passenger, Chester Jock, 55, of Mayville were in a sedan northbound on Burdick Road. The vehicles collided at the intersection, resulting in heavy damage.
McIndoo had to be extricated from the truck by fire and rescue personnel due to the truck overturning. First responders determined that all subjects involved had suffered injuries from the collision. All subjects were transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction team was called out for reconstruction of the accident scene. As of Tuesday evening, the accident was still under investigation and charges are pending.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Chautauqua County EMS, Chautauqua County Emergency Services, Chautauqua County Fire Police and fire/rescue and EMS crews from Brocton, Mayville, Hartfield, Stockton and Portland.
