Firefighters respond to ceiling fire at Silver Creek Save A Lot

SILVER CREEK – Firefighters responded to a ceiling fire at a local grocery store.
According to the Forestville Fire Department’s Facebook page, Friday at around 5:45 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to a working fire at Save A Lot in Silver Creek.
Silver Creek arrived and declared a working fire in the ceiling and requested additional manpower from Angola and Evans Center FAST team. Trucks from Forestville, Sunset Bay and Hanover Center also responded, as well as the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department.
Sunset Bay was the first engine on scene and their crew gained entry to the attic area of the store and found fire around the heating unit. They extinguished the fire, and all other crews assisted with overhaul.
